Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 30th Annual Run for the Refuge!
This year’s race brought together runners, walkers, families, volunteers, and supporters for another memorable day in support of the Northern Alaska Environmental Center. We’re grateful to everyone who participated in the 5K and 10K and helped celebrate three decades of Run for the Refuge.
This year’s 30th anniversary was also recognized by Alaska State Representative Ashley Carrick, who presented a legislative proclamation honoring the 30th Annual Run for the Refuge. We are grateful for this recognition of the race’s long history and the community that has sustained it for three decades.

A Huge Thank You to Our Volunteers
The Run for the Refuge simply would not happen without the many volunteers who give their time, energy, and care to make race day possible.
From helping with registration and check-in, setting up the course, directing runners, recording finish times, handing out water, helping at the finish line, breaking down equipment, and taking care of countless details behind the scenes, our volunteers are the heart of this event.
To everyone who showed up early, stayed late, stepped in where needed, encouraged racers along the way, and helped us celebrate 30 years of Run for the Refuge: thank you.
Your generosity and commitment made this milestone event possible, and we are deeply grateful for everything you contributed.
Celebrating 30 Years
Reaching the 30th Annual Run for the Refuge is a milestone worth celebrating. For three decades, this event has brought people together around a shared appreciation for Alaska’s lands, waters, wildlife, and communities.
Representative Carrick’s legislative proclamation helped mark that history and recognize the many racers, volunteers, supporters, organizers, and community members who have contributed to the Run for the Refuge over the years.
Thank You Runners
The Run for the Refuge has always been about more than finish times. It’s an opportunity to come together, enjoy the outdoors, support conservation, and celebrate the people who care about Alaska.
We want to extend a sincere thank-you to every racer, walker, family member, volunteer, sponsor, and supporter who helped make the 30th Annual Run for the Refuge possible.
Congratulations to all of our finishers and award winners, and thank you for being part of this milestone year.
We hope to see you again at the starting line next year!
