Want to learn skills to engage in direct action, but don’t know where to start? Join the Northern Center, Fairbanks Climate Action Coalition, Alaska Peace Center, and Young Alaskans Training Fund for “Making Good Trouble,” a two-day non-violent direct action workshop at the Dena’ Movement Commons, October 5th and 6th. Trainers from across the state will share their knowledge and experiences in non-violent direct action, provide information on the philosophies of direct action, give tactics and tools to help you start or further develop your campaign, and guide campaign and art development, leading to the positive change we want to see in our communities!
Date: Saturday October 5th and Sunday October 6th
Location: Dena’ Movement Commons, 526 Gaffney Road, Suite 204
Time: 9:30 am – 5:00 pm both days, with breaks for lunch & snacks

We want community members to feel welcome to attend and recognize that members of our community have varying access to income and other resources. To ensure that income is not a limiting factor in access to training, we are offering registration on a sliding scale. For transparency, the registration fee supports the co-organizations to pay facilitators, cover the cost of training materials and art supplies available to participants, and provide food to share among everyone. Individual registration fee can be selected on Northern Center’s website.
To assist you in deciding what you might pay for this class, we offering the following descriptions:
Lowest cost: $0-10

Highest cost: $40-50
This covers the requested fee of our training; we encourage those with the economic privilege to support this training to do so.
