Earlier this month, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration released the 2023 Arctic Report Card, detailing climate change impacts and extreme weather in the Arctic.
The findings included changes to temperature of the air, water, and land, as well as impacts to animals in the region. The report also detailed existing and potential future collaborative work with Indigenous Arctic peoples to monitor the changes to the environment.
The Northern Alaska Environmental Center promotes conservation of the environment and sustainable resource stewardship in Interior and Arctic Alaska through education and advocacy.
