2. Where is Arctic Fest?
Arctic Fest is in Fairbanks, Alaska, at a variety of locations including Pioneer Park, Hering Auditorium, and the University of Alaska Fairbanks campus. See details about each event on the Arctic Fest website.
3. What is Arctic Fest?
Arctic Fest is a new annual festival featuring the arts, sciences, and Indigenous cultural and knowledge systems, all focused on our changing environment.
4. Is it free to attend?
Yes! There are a variety of free events throughout the week, including the Fairbanks Fungi Festival, the Green Marketplace, and the Innovation Hub.
In addition to the free events, Pamyua will headline the festival on Friday, September 2. This Inuit soul music group will be joined by performances from the Celaire Singers, the North Star Ballet, and the Pavva Inupiaq Dancers. Tickets to this event are limited – get yours now.
5. Who is hosting Arctic Fest?
Arctic Fest is a collaboration between Northern Alaska Environmental Center, University of Alaska Fairbanks, and Fairbanks Concert Association.
6. How can I participate as a vendor?
A Green Marketplace will feature informational booths, artisans, and businesses during Arctic Fest. Vendors who are interested in participating in the Arctic Fest Green Marketplace should register at this link. The Green Marketplace will be open on Friday and Saturday, September 2-3, from 12 pm to 6 pm.
7. How can I participate as a presenter?
As part of the Green Marketplace, there will be an Innovation Hub which will feature presentations from 1 pm to 5 pm on both Friday and Saturday, September 2-3. If you are interested in presenting at the Innovation Hub, register at this link.
8. Can I volunteer for Arctic Fest?
Yes! There are lots of opportunities to get involved, and we would love to have you as part of the Arctic Fest team. Click here for a sign up form.
9. Is it family friendly and accessible?
There will be family friendly events throughout Arctic Fest. Hering Auditorium is an accessible venue. Green Marketplace and Innovation Hub are located at accessible venues. All events at the University of Alaska Fairbanks are accessible. For information about each specific event, click here.
