Camp Habitat
Since 1990, the Northern Alaska Environmental Center has been an active sponsor of Camp Habitat Summer Camps which are outdoor nature education and ecology camps for youth. In 2006 the Northern Alaska Environmental Center partnered with the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District to bring the summer camp experience indoors as an after school program as part of the 21st Century Community Learning Center after school programs.

Camp Habitat Summer Camps
Week-long nature education and ecology camps for youth ages 4 - 11 have been a part of the Fairbanks Community thanks to the Alaska Department of Fish & Game, Friends of Creamer's Field, and the Northern Alaska Environmental Center since 1990. Learn more and register for the upcoming season beginning each March.
Camp Habitat After School Program
The Camp Habitat After School Program curriculum is similar to Camp Habitat Summer Camps where young people learn about the environment by exploring the natural world through different themes. The program began in 2006 as a joint venture between the Northern Alaska Environmental Center and the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District and takes places at local elementary and middle schools that are 21st Century Community Learning Centers Sites.
