NAEC comments on Alaska DNR mission change

The DNR recently dropped "conserve," "enhance," and "future generations" from their mission statement, making their purpose more development-focused than Royal Dutch Shell! The Northern Center and allies commented for the conservation community. Read all about it in the Daily News Miner

The old one read: “To develop, conserve and enhance natural resources for present and future Alaskans.”

The new one: “To responsibly develop Alaska’s resources by making them available for maximum use and benefit consistent with the public interest.”

What happened to "conserve," "enhance," and "future generations?"

PS: The mission of Royal Dutch Shell is:  "to meet the energy needs of society, in ways that are economically, socially and environmentally viable, now and in the future."
