Teshekpuk Lake Hypothetical Development ScenarioThis development sprawl could have resulted if Bush Administration's 2008 proposed leasing program had gone forward. Due to local and national outcry, a 10-year deferral was selected instead, setting the stage for stronger protections to be established by Congress in the future.
