40 Years

From the Board President

"A healthy environment, prosperity, sustainability, national security and many other issues of great importance are interwoven in complex ways that too often get short shrift in our public dialogues. Northern Center staff, board, and members have been dedicated to pursuing these critical avenues of thought and action for the past forty years.  With your continued support, we’re ready for the next forty.

Alaska possesses roughly half the nation’s coal.  Come learn about coal mining and combustion impacts from Goldman Prize award winner Judy Bonds and acclaimed Clean Water Act lawyer Joe Lovett at the Alaska Coal Workshop Series, along with talks from local energy experts at the Alaska Center for Energy and Power. This is the perfect opportunity to learn more about the risks of coal, and our energy options in the Interior.
