Action on Susitna Dam! Alaska Energy Authority Open House in Fairbanks

Action Alert!

Time to ask key questions about Susitna Dam.

The Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) is hosting an Open House this Thursday in Fairbanks, May 22nd 4:30pm – 7:30pm. Learn about project updates and find out what environmental and engineering studies are underway. The Alaska Energy Authority has been spending state dollars, hundreds of millions, to move forward on construction of the Susitna-Watana dam. Alaskans have been asking questions and sharing concerns about a mega project and the costs associated with it as well as the effects on the land, watershed, and animals.

Please attend the Open House and ask those key questions:

The economics of this plan?

The risk to salmon?

The rivers and watershed?

The effects on the ecosystems?

Wildlife impacts?

Hunting and fishing impacts?

Why not spend money on energy efficiency and more cost-effective/greater capacity energy projects?

AEA is hosting a meeting in Fairbanks on Thursday May 22nd, 4:30-7:30 pm at the Westmark Fairbanks Hotel and Conference Center. Please attend this meeting and ask the key questions.
